Action is what matters to me. What makes my physics work worthwhile to me is that is has informed my approach to taking risks. You may know that 2+ years ago I left my job as a full-time teacher to pursue music full-time. i could never have known the adventures and experiences that lay ahead. I have learned that  my actions bring about responses from the environment around me.

I have been so blessed and amazed at the rich experiences I have had throughout the experiement of "think for yourself, do what you love". I figure that of all my work, this may be what most interests people, because it has been so amazing for me.

In one example, I decided 3 weeks before the Democratic National Convention to travel to Denver and join them. Overall, the trip ended up costing me no money, and during the speech at Invesco I was standing on the floor of the stadium next to the Kentucky contingent. Among 84,000 people in attendance, the day before the speech I did not even have a ticket to the stadium, much less a floor pass! Here is my blog from that trip...

A week later, i was home trying to figure out haw to attend the Agape music conference in LA. We had not been able to raise more than $90 for the trip, and the tuition alone was $600 or so. I worked out with the center a way for me to travel down there for one day of the conference, thereby meeting my need of expanding into that community and meeting new faces. Again, the trip was cost neutral, and satisfied my professional needs.

Last weekend, I had a very special expeience, shaking hands face-to-face with barack Obama and personally handing him a copy of our video "We Are the Ones (We've Been Waiting for)" dedicated to his volunteers. I documented this in my blog, including a video of the experience!

The video, "We Are the Ones (We've Been Waiting for)" was produced in three weeks for a nominal cost of a few hundred bucks. you don't have to be rich to do cool stuff!
