This CD is the culmination of 3 years of performing and writing for the New Thought spiritual movement. The album reflects Sky's performance style, centered around piano and lush vocals, and influenced by many diverse people. You will not hear much bass guitar, because his left hand does all the bass work in his performances. This album stays true to what you will hear live from Sky.
With a mix of sing-alongs/chants, full length feature songs, and meditative ambience tracks, the album is arranged with a flow that takes the listener through an internal process. The tracks maintain a secular and positive theme, one that reaches broadly across genres to speak to anyone who is present to the many changes happening in our world and in our lives today.
What people are saying:
“… Many of these songs (will become) New Thought classics over time…you’ll find virtually every song on this CD suitable both musically and lyrically for use in New Thought churches. I love them all…” Richard Mekdeci, Empowerma, Sound Connections March 2011 Issue #72 (read it here)
“Sky lives his spiritual values, embracing and loving people as part and parcel of what he loves to do in music. His songs express all of this richness with depth, humor, honesty and love. I just love the man and am pleased to call him my friend." Rev. Mary Murray Shelton (partner in Service at Global Heart CSL, currently at CSL Vancouver)
“Songs are short and easy to sing-along with catchy hooks, making this collection of work a perfect selection for anyone actively engaged in personal growth.…lyrics are stated in the present tense, designed to encourage the direction of thoughts and feeling to maintain a state of joy, trust, gratitude, healing, release, unity consciousness and love….
…includes a combination of upbeat and introspective songs, with a capella singing as well as instrumental solos, allowing time for celebration as well as meditation. The words and music support conscious living and would be an excellent supplement to many personal growth workshops and music libraries.” Rosemarie Ashley, Positive Music Association
