Sky's new album, "The World Ocean", (his 7th) is a result of his journey into the depths of inner conflict and back out the other side. What happens when all the obstacles are removed? When there is no more internal resistance? When we no longer get in our own way? As the ocean levels rise in the world, they also rise metaphorically in our own lives, and it is "total immersion" in the World Ocean that helps us through.
This CD is the culmination of 2 years of performing and writing for the New Thought spiritual movement. The album reflects Sky's performance style, centered around piano and lush vocals, and influenced by many diverse people. You will not hear much bass guitar, because his left hand does all the bass work in his performances. This album stays true to what you will hear live from Sky.
With a mix of sing-alongs/chants, full length feature songs, and meditative ambience tracks, the album is arranged with a flow that takes the listener through an internal process. Yet the tracks maintain a secular and positive theme, one that reaches broadly across genres to speak to anyone who is present to the many changes happening in our world and in our lives today.
"This album is inspired by dreams. Giant crashing waves and tsunamis, trying to escape to higher ground. Yet in the dreams I always come out alright, and there is a deep sense of peace and belonging in the end. This music is an offering to that process, and the welcoming of the transformation that comes when we allow it. Really, it comes whether we allow it or not.
Hold on, sit back, and enjoy the ride."
